Western Michigan University's BUS 3960/6960 is known by the class as the India Gateway Program. Our focus in India will be on for-profit business as well as on entrepreneurship
activities that further the public good – the creation of enterprises (for
profit or non-profit) that benefit communities, encourage civic engagement, and
help solve society’s problems (e.g., poverty, disease, illiteracy,
homelessness). The primary focus of the trip will be corporate social
responsibility and will seek to answer the question, “what is the role of
business in society?”
Our team of 17 students leaves Kalamazoo on Friday, December 5, 2014. The flights take us through Detroit, Paris, and then on to Bangalore for a total of 28 hours of travel and experiencing a 9.5 hour time change. Passports with visas are ready, and "do not forget" lists are growing - along with the excitement.
